Answer
RRC Policy and Procedures
Refer to the College's P7 – Fair Dealing (Copyright) Procedures, section 4.2, for details on what you can and cannot copy for training purposes.
RRC Polytech faculty, students, and staff, may photocopy/print up to 10% of material for the purpose of teaching and instruction for individual use.
- All duplicated files must be accompanied with the original bibliographic information.
- Best practice for including original source information is to cite the source on physical copies.
Sharing Library Resources on LEARN
If you are an instructor and wish to share Library resources with students on LEARN as required or optional readings for your course, please use the Library's Course Reserve Request Form.
Do not share PDF copies of Library Materials. Do share OneSearch permalinks or other database DOIs to others to access digital Library material directly from the Library's integrated systems (e.g. OneSearch).
If you wish to share digital copies of physical Library materials on LEARN, please fill out the Course Reserve Request Form and allow 3-5 business days to process your request (we will send you a permalink to include in your LEARN shell).
Do not create digital copies of Library material for sharing purposes. e.g. scan or download PDFs copies of Library resources and upload these copies to LEARN or share your PDF copy
Why is this important? When you use permalinks to share Library resources you...
- help the Library accurately track the use of subscription materials
- protect the College against potential copyright infringement litigation
- guarantee that all users have access to the original source information
- are following Academic Integrity best practices ()
Do not share PDF copies of Library Materials. Do use OneSearch permalinks to share resources with other staff and students.
