What is a full-text database?

Why does the library show just abstracts for articles?

If I find an article in the library search, should I be able to open it?

I found an article through the Library system but cannot open the full PDF?

Answer

A full-text database will contain PDF or HTML links to the full article which can be saved or printed. You may also see “Linked Text” in OneSearch which will take you to the article in a different database. Not all records in a full-text database will have the full-text of the article.

If you are viewing a search result within OneSearch it does not necessarily mean the library has full-text access to that journal through our databases. We include results beyond our collection to streamline discovery, and provide users the ability to find a citation or abstract for relevant articles, and ease the ability to place Inter Library Loan requests.
