Answer
What are the noise expectations in the Library?
Conversational tones are acceptable in group-use areas of the NDC and EDC Libraries. However, playing music or other continuous audio from laptops or speakers is not appropriate in these spaces.
Groups are expected to keep their volume at a level that does not disturb others. If a group becomes consistently loud and disruptive, Library staff may ask them to relocate outside the Library.
On the quiet side of the Notre Dame Campus Library, users are expected to maintain silence. If you need to study with others or engage in conversation—even whispered—we ask that you move to a designated group-use area.
Headsets and audio playback equipment are available to borrow at the Library Help Desk.
Note: headphones must be used while participating in any online classes anywhere on campus.

Please consider listening to the audio individually through your own devices using headsets. You can ask to borrow these at the Library Help Desk.
Book a Quiet Pod - these sound isolating booths are intended to provide a semiprivate, noise-controlled option on the group use side in the NDC Library.
There is also a Quiet Pod that is first-come, first serve, located in the Learning Commons at EDC.
Book a meeting room through the Student Association - The SA offers two bookable rooms at NDC that accommodate larger groups. These are not located in the Library, and can be found on the Mall level, C-building hallway across from Tim Horton's: The Den (CM75E) and The Club Hub (CM75D).
